September 25th, 2018

Hold on to your lederhosen, boys and girls—because our favorite stein-raising holiday is back! Oktoberfest time is upon us and as always, there are so many ways to celebrate Bavarian-style in Marina del Rey and beyond. From delectable menu specials to major Oktoberfest bashes, some of the biggest fun of the year is starting now.

4089 Lincoln Blvd., Marina del Rey

On Saturday, October 6th, Brennan’s is hosting one heck of a great Oktoberfest party in conjunction with Beyond Meat (plant-based fans—get ready for yumminess) and several beer sponsors. The fun will be going from 10 am to 2 am with live music, KROQ’s radio personality—Beer Mug, potato sack racing, contests, a horn blowing ceremony, games (like beer pong), and German-inspired food featuring Beyond Meat’s awesome brats. Cover after noon is $5 or you can buy a VIP package for $25 that comes with a commemorative beer stein, two food tickets, and an all-day discount wristband for beer. Large groups may want to purchase the $200 Group Package that offers 10 seats, 10 steins, 20 food tickets, 10 discount beer wristbands and 10 Oktoberfest t-shirts.

4175 Admiralty Way, Marina del Rey

If Oktoberfest with a side of ocean views is more your celebratory speed, look no further than Jamaica Bay Inn. Until October 31st, their Beachside Restaurant is offering a scrumptious sounding menu with specials like HofbräuBeer-Battered Onion Rings, traditional Schweineschnitzel, Hofbräu Oktoberfest beer on draft and German chocolate cake. In other words, everything you could possibly crave (with the exception of an Oompah band and dirndls).

13755 Fiji Way, Marina del Rey

For the month of October, Hornblower is enhancing their regular Sunset Cruise series with a festive Oktoberfest “Brews & Brats” theme every Wednesday and Thursday of October. The two-hour cruises sail from 6 pm to 8 pm and feature complimentary German-style appetizers and a cash bar with Ayinger Oktoberfest and Ayinger Bavarian Pils (plus other beers, cocktails, and more). The price is just $37 per person (plus fees) — totally worth it.

625 Lincoln Blvd., Venice

Just up in Venice, sausage king Wurstküche is pulling out all the Oktoberfest stops every Saturday in October (the October 6th party is already sold out). Purchase your $25 tickets now to get in on the epic good time, which includes a Wurstküche liter mug of Oktoberfest beer, lots of yodeling, live performances from the Munich Boom-Steiners, and a fun-loving crowd (most donning some sweet Oktoberfest fashion).

833 W. Torrance Blvd., Torrance

If you want to go seriously BIG with your Oktoberfest celebration, then you mustUber down to Torrance for at least one Alpine Village Oktoberfest night. Tickets are available for Fridays, 6 pm to 12 am (21+); Saturdays, 5 pm to 12 am (21+); and Sundays, 1 pm to 6 pm (all ages) through October 27th. So, here’s what you can expect: Great German food, plenty of Paulaner German beer flowing, high energy Oom Pah Pah bands, and a crowd that is 100% into the fun.

They have all kinds of ticket types you’ll want to check out, depending on the day and whether you want to take advantage of their packages. For example, their “Dine, Stein, No Line!” package guarantees front-of-line admission, dinner at the Alpine Village Restaurant and a 16-ounce 2018 Alpine Village Oktoberfest ceramic beer stein filled with Paulaner. They also offer a “Preferred Seating” package for up to 20 people (fill out their inquiry form online to learn how to score those seats), which includes front-of-line admission, a stage-side table, dinner in the big tent, a drink voucher, Oktoberfest ceramic beer stein, and a dedicated line to buy food and drinks.
