Thanksgiving is just eight days away, and it’s time to start making your plan for the most delicious holiday of the year. Ok, it’s not purely about the food — we know that. Gratitude and reflection are at the core of Thanksgiving. It’s the perfect time to be grateful for everything we have in our lives — like health, happiness, family, epic friendships, beautiful sunsets over the harbor, after-work strolls through Burton Chace Park, endless opportunities for brunch by the water and a host of restaurants around town that will slave over a hot stove to make sure you have an unforgettably delectable Thanksgiving meal (and no dishes to do!). Yes, that last one leads to maybe your most important decision of the week… which awesome Marina del Rey-area dining spot will have the pleasure of your company on November 23rd? We have FIVE can’t-beat suggestions you’ll want to mull over… and once you’ve made your choice, book soon! Reservations will be filling up fast.

In the mood for an exquisitely prepared Thanksgiving at one of the Marina’s finest hotspots? You’re in luck because Café del Rey has a fabulous three-course menu planned — and we’re guessing your taste buds will be especially thankful. Highlights include a divine butternut squash bisque starter; four entrée options, including turkey Wellington and vegetable gnocchi; and a trio of dessert temptations (pumpkin cheesecake is one possibility!). And don’t forget they have a fantastic wine list — so ask your server what would pair best with your entrée.

Beachside Restaurant has quickly become a favorite in Marina del Rey and this year, they have a Thanksgiving menu that looks downright delightful, and even includes a holiday signature cocktail (Pumpkin Spice Martini… yum!). Here’s a peek to get your tummy rumbling in anticipation. You can begin feasting with one of five starters, such as their wild arugula & blue crab salad or maybe their crisp Autumn Salad (filled with persimmon, apples, pomegranate). Then move on to seven main course options, such as a Roasted Garlic & Rosemary Prime Rib with truffle mashed potatoes, Butternut Squash Ravioli (a vegetarian fave) or their special Herb Roasted Mary’s Organic Turkey Breast. They also have plenty of sides to share, ranging from Sambal Brussels Sprouts and French Green Bean Almondine to Sweet Potato Fries and Corn Bread, Sausage, & Pecan Stuffing.

When you think of Ruth’s Chris, the one dish that naturally pops in your head is their famous Filet. But on Thanksgiving it’s a whole different ball game — tradition is the name of the game. Their three-course Thanksgiving dinner is a classic — a salad or seafood gumbo starter; oven-roasted turkey breast with stuffing, cranberry relish, plus your choice of sides (mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole or creamed spinach!); and a decadent pumpkin cheesecake dessert. Their regular menu is also available, so every palate can be satisfied and no one is left out of the holiday feast (for instance, vegetarians can enjoy their great Vegetarian Plate).

BONUS: If you’re going to someone’s house and you want to bring an amazing side dish, Ruth’s also allows you to pre-order their sweet potato casserole or creamed spinach to-go! Both serve up to 12 people.
