Happy National Vegetarian Month, Marina del Rey! Now is the time to let your veggie love shine and dig into the natural goodness of vegetarian (and vegan) meals. The days of thinking you have to eat traditional meat for protein and satisfaction are long gone — especially when you consider the influx of plant-based proteins that taste amazing and are showing up on menus all over town. Seriously, have you tried the vegan cheese & sausage pizza at Fresh Brothers? SO. GOOD. Marina del Rey Oktoberfest fans — are you ready for bier, brezeln, wurst, and crazy amounts of fun? If your answer is a hearty “JA!” then start your party planning. Because oh boy — there’s a ton going on this month for Oktoberfest.  We’re talking about festive cruises, major Oktoberfest parties and even a celebratory sailing regatta. So, start making those reservations, don your dirndls and lederhosen (for the parties, at least!), brush up on your Oktoberfest lingo (“PROST!”) and have an amazing Oktoberfest!

On October 7 at 8 pm, the FantaSea One will set sail for an epic three-hour Oktoberfest cruise filled with food, drinks and music. Book your reservation (just $69.95 per person) and enjoy all you can eat yummies, including gourmet sausage (aka: wurst), chicken wings, fish, garlic potatoes, pretzels and more. Two glasses of beer or wine, plus dessert are also included in the price. Head to the ship’s second level for great Oktoberfest music, or if you’re craving electronic and hip hop— the third level will be happening, as well! PS Make sure you arrive at the ship at least 30 minutes before it sets sail — no refunds will be accommodated if you miss the boat!

NATIONAL PICNIC MONTH: WHERE TO FILL YOUR BASKETS IN AND AROUND MARINA DEL REY

It’s National Picnic Month, Marina del Rey! August is here and summer is in its prime, which means it’s the perfect time to honor this great, outdoor tradition. We have so many awesome spots to picnic in and around town, like Burton Chace Park, Mother’s Beach, Del Rey Lagoon, Santa Monica’s Palisades Park or even Venice Beach (with its endless entertainment!).
