Lace Up: Santa Monica’s ICE is Back

Who doesn’t love late fall in Marina del Rey? While much of the country is shivering through freezing temperatures (seriously…40-degree highs? Brrr!), we’re coasting through to Thanksgiving with some sweet summer temps. The only advantage colder climates may have on us is the ability to indulge in one of cold’s best past times—Outdoor Ice Skating. If only there was a way to take to the ice without having to immerse ourselves in those frigid glacial temps. Guess what, ice-skating fans—there is a way. Because ICE at Santa Monica is back!
Yep, from now until January 19, ICE transforms the corner of 5th Street and Arizona into a mammoth 8,000 square foot outdoor rink—and let us just tell you: It’s a really good time. If you’re a skating novice—never fear, because the rink also offers skate classes and private lessons through Randy Gardner’s School of Skating. Once you’re a pro and ready to dazzle your friends with your wicked Figure 8, you can even rent the rink for a private party. Are you sufficiently enthused? Then let’s get ready to hit the ice!
Here are all the details:
Where: Corner of 5th Street and Arizona Avenue
When: Monday–Thursday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday from 2 p.m. to midnight
Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight
