Farmers Market is Finally Here in Marina del Rey!

As we all know, living in the Marina has its perks: beautiful coastal views of the Pacific Ocean, endless recreational activities, close proximity to Venice and Santa Monica beaches, constant sunshine and near perfect coastal weather. But up until now residents in search of fresh, seasonally-grown fruits and vegetables have had to either go to Mar Vista, Playa Vista or Santa Monica.  Enter the Del Rey Farmers Market!

Opening quietly in late July according to our pals at Patch, the Del Rey Farmers Market is now fully up and running every Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. on the strip of grass between the Glen Alla Park playground and Glencoe Avenue.  Farmers markets are known for their high quality food, fair prices and fun social atmosphere–the Del Rey Farmers Market is no exception. Each week, the market will feature live music to serve as your afternoon soundtrack while you pick out your favorite summer fruits and vegetables.

The market has started with about 10 vendors displaying their fresh produce and prepared food, and is expected to grow in size as more and more vendors look to sell what they’ve grown to members of the community. We encourage you to head over to the Del Rey Farmers Market on Fridays and sample the fresh and flavorful produce for yourself. It’s only a hop and skip from Esprit, The Villa, The Tides and Waters Edge, Bar Harbor and Mariner’s Village.  And if you’ve already discovered the fresh goodness of our new local Farmers Market, we want to hear from you! How was your experience? Which foods have you tried?
